Kuala Lumpur is quite huge and there are many areas that you can go to. Particularly, there is a place that I want you to visit and that is Brickfields.
This area is a juxtaposition of old and new. There are vast colonial villages that co-exist with modern high-rise structures. There is just plenty of things that you can do here.
From getting girl escorts to worshipping in temples, here are the top things you can do in Brickfields:
Nu Sentral
This shopping mall is considered to be the gateway that connects both the old and new Brickfields. That being said, it is also linked to the Kuala Lumpur Sentral, which is a major public transportation hub located in the city.
There are literally tons of things that you can buy from this shopping mall. If you need clothes, you can choose from a bevy of clothing stores. If you want books, there are a handful of bookstores with wide book selections. And, if you are feeling sick or you just want to buy something from the drug store, this mall has it too.
Little India
This street is quite popular in Brickfields. You will know if it is Little India when you see intricately-designed flower arches along the main road.
As you can expect from the name, you can buy plenty of Indian goods- from traditional spices to Indian clothing- there is pretty much a lot for everyone.
Legend’s Claypot Biryani
If you are into Indian cuisine, then I highly recommend that you visit the Legend’s Claypot Biryani. They serve their signature Biryani rice inside clay pots and once you open them, you will instantly smell the amazing rice that is cooked with Indian herbs and spices.
You can also add some meat on your rice as well, including mutton, seafood, chicken, and there is also an option for veggie lovers as well.
Sri Kandaswamy Kovil Temple
This Hindu temple is also known as the Scott Road Temple. It is a Saivite-style temple that has been established for more than 100 years.
The temple’s main deity is Sri Shakthi Vel Peruman, but as you can see from the structure, there are other deities as well.
The Sri Kandaswamy Kovil is filled with majestic pillars, well-decorated halls, golden domes and intricate sculptures. Although taking pictures inside the temple is forbidden, you can take photos of the temple from the outside.
Ah Keong’s ABC & Cendol Stall
Malaysia can be very hot at times, which is why people are quite fond of Cendol. This shaved ice dessert is loved by many because of the fact that you can add any toppings that you want.
I suggest that you visit Uncle Ah Keong’s Cendol Stall located at Jalan Padang Bella. It is quite popular in the area that people are actually lining up just to get their delicious Cendol.
Mai Bar
At the end of the day, head on over the Mai Bar located at the 30th floor of the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral. The bar provides people with a spacious rooftop along with a relaxing ambiance so that the patrons can truly enjoy their evening.
